Hey there and welcome to Artemis' Bow! This is an interactive, Choose Your Own Adventure comic + story that centers around themes of weight gain and expansion in a sci-fi universe! Artemis' Bow is directed by you, and driven by YOUR contributions! Keep up to date and remember to vote, to choose the direction of the story. At time of posting, I've completed chapters 1 through 9, stay tuned for chapter ten in the coming week.

This chapter has been edited by firefox , without whom this story would be a lot less polished, and a lot less interesting! The character Texas belongs to Apeshallneverkillape and the character Miranda belongs to Firefox. I am honoured to have been able to include them in the story! Check out my Patreon options to see how you can feature as a cameo in one of the upcoming parts of this, and other story arcs. The character Alex is property of kyofoxe94 and the character Aava is property of Zandenel. These two have been my highest tier patrons for a significant amount of time, and without their help this project would not have been possible. Part 3:

Just a taste, Artemis told herself. Those backwater colonists wouldn’t even realise it was gone.

She didn’t have to try hard to convince herself; the mushrooms were right there in front of her, and even though she’d never really fancied raw fungus in the past, it would have been just so easy to reach out and grab one of those perfect specimens.

Artemis.”

Demeter’s voice cut like a knife through the haze surrounding Artemis’ thoughts, returning her to the present, to the chilly cargo bay of an abandoned ship looking at a small fortune in medicinal fungus. Realising she’d be a fool to waste even a little of her potential profit, much less consume something with potentially unknown side-effects, Artemis forced herself to close the lid of the crate and step away.

That was close, she realised.

“Yeah,” she answered, getting her thoughts in order. “Okay... get the drones to grab what we can haul, but these crates and those atmospheric processors are top priority.” The wolf flicked her wrist towards the shadow draped machinery at the back of the hull before flicking her commlink on. “Alex,” she asked, “find anything interesting?”

Artemis watched the drones go to work as she waited for a response. The loading drones were bigger than her head and braced with heavy thruster packs as well as mag-lev cartridges, so watching them maneuver cargo many times their size was almost akin to watching an ant carry away a leaf on its back.

“No ma’am,” Came Alex’s reply. “This lot left in a hurry, looks like they were your standard colonists.”

Artemis sighed. The central worlds were overcrowded, over policed and over polluted. More and more, the oppressed citizens of the Empire look starward to find freedom, but to do so was a leap of faith. Faith in your ship, and that your destination would still be there when you arrive.

“Alright, grab anything shiny and let’s head out,” Artemis replied, eager to be away from the derelict with its precious cargo stored safely in The Jackal’s bay.

Tugging gently on the collar of her flight-suit, she left Demeter’s drones to secure the cargo and started padding through the hallways of the Orca-class, a holographic HUD showing the fastest route clear to The Jackal.

Meanwhile, back in the galley of The Jackal; Aava sat, slumped forward on a barstool that groaned angrily beneath her weight, despite being made of metal. The rabbit’s paws and face were caked in nutrient paste which dripped with a sludge-like consistency from her chin and onto the cleavage of her green flight suit. Her eyes had glazed over, and with almost mechanical motions, she scooped another handful of the tasteless, pale gray sludge into her mouth, swallowing it down with a heavy neck-bulging gulp. Her other paw rested just a little beneath her breasts, which sat atop a stomach bloated beyond all earlier recognition. It had burst through the zipper of her flight suit, every roll of blubber stretched tightly around the sheer volume of paste that she’d somehow managed to cram into a gut that hung down to her knees, pushing her away from the counter at which she had been sitting.

Not that it mattered.

Demeter’s drones hovered uncertainly, each holding a mixing bowl filled with a mixture of lard and nutrient paste. When Aava’s bowl came up empty, they helpfully pushed another into her waiting, grasping, paste-caked fingers so that the rabbit could continue to gorge herself, not seeing the swelling of her stomach or hearing the tortured groans of her barstool. From her perspective, she wasn’t sitting at a counter in the ship’s galley, but instead lounging atop a throne.

All around her, servants scurried, their Virtual Reality avatars little more than Demeter’s puppets to control as they frantically prepared dish after succulent dish. The remains of countless meals lay discarded at Aava’s paws; giant bones picked clean and silver platters with every smudge of gravy licked off them before they were thrown carelessly to the ground. She could barely see the huge swell of her stomach. Each time she finished a dish she was handed another almost instantly, making it difficult to notice how her gut slowly crept forward, pushing her legs apart. She certainly didn’t feel the pain or the fullness that she usually would, such signals had been intercepted and dulled by Demeter long ago in an attempt to maximise the rabbits pleasure.

As far as Demeter’s understanding of pleasure was concerned, what could be better than doing your favourite thing as much as you wanted?

Somewhere in the back of Aava’s mind, as she chewed and gulped her way through a platter of dumplings- each as big as her fist- she could feel her stomach’s complaint. She could feel an aching fullness like a gentle itch that hung at the back of her mind. It provided little more than an afterthought, easily ignored and rendered into the background of the main event. Each and every meal she had been presented with; the flavours, the texture, the warmth, seemed as though each dish were somehow more delicious than the dish before it! With each bite she considered stopping less and less.

At some point, Aava had made the unconscious decision to stay and gorge herself until she couldn’t eat anymore, until her stomach’s complaint finally outweighed the joy of aching fullness. Until she was sure that she couldn’t swallow another bite. She would realize it, eventually, but as long as the steady supply of slop to kept her distracted, it would certainly take a while.

Artemis tried not to stare at Alex as the flight suit-clad dragon girl effortlessly carried a stack of crates that would have doubtlessly reduced the wolf to a panting, sweating mess. And Artemis prided herself on her physique, regularly making sure to work out her arm and leg muscles where she could. For Alex, despite her slender frame and lack of overt musculature, lifting heavy loads seemed to come as naturally to her as her work with assault rifles. As she stood in front of Artemis, her tail swayed impatiently, the pair waiting for the airlock to open. From somewhere beneath, the heavy thumping of metal on metal indicated that Demeter’s drones were securing their haul, and the gentle hum of her fusion engine indicated that the ship was warming up and getting ready to leave. Artemis chewed over the thought of the medical crates in the hull and what they could mean, trying not to let the swaying of Alex’s tail distract her eyes.

With a soft hiss the airlock seals came undone and a pair of heavy metal doors slid slowly across the floor, enabling access to the Jackal. Alex immediately set off, humming to herself as she took a left down some stairs and towards the cargo bay where she’d dump the junk she found. Artemis crossed into a hallway that would take her first, through the galley and then into the cockpit. All around her once again she heard the familiar, comforting tones of her ship, her pride and joy. But somewhere amidst the gentle groans of shifting metal and dancing delicately above the hum of her engines, Artemis perceived a sound that did not belong. Subtle at first, the sound swelled in volume as she approached the galley. A glorping, sloshing, churning noise, like a waterbed had been overfilled before being stuffed into a box that was much too small for it. The sheer organic nature of the noise almost gave Artemis cause to hesitate, but curiosity propelled her forward. She might have expected any number of things as she approached the door to the galley, and hearing the hum of Demeter’s drones was reassuring, but nothing could have prepared her for the scene she was about to stumble into.

Aava sat on the ground, propped up against the wall, her eyes glazed over as she stared happily into space. Her chubby chins were lost behind the swell of her breasts as they strained the tattered remnants of her shirt, perched atop a mound of blubber and digesting food big enough for Artemis to curl up inside, with room left over. The gravid, bloated dome of her stomach had forced the rabbit’s legs apart, sprawling across her thighs and all the way down to her knees, where the sheer amount of food within propped it up like an inflating balloon. Her paws twitched as they gently explored its massive curves and the sloping, blubbery rolls that formed where her love handles ran from her sides to bunch behind her back. Even then, with her stomach taking on an angry pink hue, another drone was holding a mixing bowl to her mouth and pouring what looked like a thickened cream down her throat. She slurped it up, small streams of the stuff running down her cheeks to pool between her breasts and trickle over the sides of her gargantuan stomach.

“Aava!” Artemis shouted, breaking the silence like a brick through a storefront window. “What are you doing?!”

The rabbit’s eyes snapped wide open and she blinked, as though waking for a dream. A groan spilled from her mouth and she clutched her stomach, suddenly and intimately aware of exactly how stretched she had become.

“W-wha... what’s going on...?” she murmured, glancing around as though unsure of exactly where she was.

Artemis strode up to the rabbit, looking over the bloated girl, having never seen anything like this in her life. She wiped a finger across the balloon of a rabbit’s stomach, trailing it through the still viscous liquid that had spilled over Aava’s middle, and hesitantly tasted it.

To no one in particular, Artemis asked, “Nutrient paste? And—”

The second flavour eluded her for a moment.

Lard.” Demeter cheerfully clarified.

The AI’s drones set the bowls down and started to clean everything up, dextrous metal hands making a pile of used plates and dishes.

“Nutrient paste and lard.” Artemis took a step back from the rabbit and her glorping, bulging stomach, resting her hands on her hips and fixing Aava with a stern look. “What exactly is going on?”

Aava, unused to being scolded to any degree, looked almost indignant for a moment, but only for a moment. She looked up and slowly, deliberately licked her lips.

“My shift ended a couple of hours ago, right?”

Aava started to lift her wrist, Artemis assumed to check her watch, but in a rather ominous fashion Aava’s belly let out a low, creaking gurgle. She let her hand slide back down the hillside of her belly and met Artemis’s eyes with a calm dignity that, all things considered, was rather impressive.

“You may be my captain,” the rabbit continued, slowly beginning to heave herself off the floor. She propped herself up, her arms behind her, grunting and pushing until the boulder of her stomach began to slowly slosh forward. “And I would follow you beyond the furthest stars of the Rim—”

Even this limited movement was a monumental effort. Her cheeks became flushed and her breathing shallow as her middle sloshed and her chest heaved.

“But what I do in my spare time is—” Aava paused to draw a deep breath, her legs wobbling as she managed to pull them underneath herself and begin to stand upright. “None of your concern.”

As the rabbit stood, the sheer girth of her forced Artemis to take a couple of steps back. The wolf shifted from stunned to confused as it dawned on her she, the captain, had just been scolded. Standing, Aava’s gut hung down to her knees and, like an inflated balloon, wobbled so far in front of her that Artemis doubted Aava could get her own arms around it. The trickling splash of residual cream threatened to splatter onto Artemis, rivulets of the stuff streaming down the sides of the rabbit’s massive, swaying gut.

“Even though that’s true,” Artemis began uncertainly, taking another couple of steps back, “I-I’ll thank you to at least keep such... recreation... to your room.”

She scratched the back of her head, the conversation was surreal.

“I’ll think about it,” Aava replied simply, her chins up as she waddled past Artemis.

Aava gently bumped the wolf out of the way, heading in the direction the wolf had come, and towards the crew quarters.

Artemis stood silently in the galley as she tried to make sense of what she had just witnessed. As she struggled to rationalize any part of it, she idly watched Demeter’s drones cleaning up the remains of the feast, their metallic bodies hovering this way and that.
